Greetings from Blagg’s Food Service New Owners,
We are pleased to announce Blagg’s Food Service has been purchased by Jeff Abel and a group of employees of Abel Fire Equipment. The business will be managed by employee owners with key support staff, all of whom have more than 75 + combined years in the fire support industry. We will be keeping the name Blagg’s Food Service and we are keeping the same phone number 800 201-2433.
We are pleased many of the current Blagg’s staff will be staying with us. As many of you know, Abel Fire Equipment has been in the Disater Response and Fire Equipment Support Business for 20+ years. We are excited to add this aspect of Fire Support and begin this new venture.
We have been shadowing Blagg’s management and staff since early August in the day to day operation of the business. The former owners, Steve and Laura Abel worked tirelessly in the 4 years since they acquired the business, to improve performance, build new equipment and establish relationships within the Fire Support community.
The Branding of Blagg’s Food Service will remain virtually the same, so the familiar Blagg’s Logo will still be in use. We have some very exciting new and innovative ideas which we are sure will improve the great reputation already in place. We have a team of marketing and technology staff, who are working to update the website and our marketing materials. In addition we have on staff, food professionals, who will bring some new ideas and latest trends in the food service industry to integrate into menus for the line lunch, admin lunch program, and the hot breakfast and dinner program.
We look forward to a long and successful enterprise.

We wanted to share a photo sent to us from one of the Public Information Officers from the Bingham Complex. This picture was taken at the Lizard Spike Camp. It is being referred to as the “Last Supper”, and is a pretty neat visual of crews enjoying our infamous prime rib dinners we do on Sundays! 
We are en route to the Bingham Complex near Sisters, Oregon! Although our warehouse workers have been busy making lunches for the Bully Fire in Shasta County most recently, and Monticello Fire near Woodland, California previously, this is our first dispatch for the Mobile K-1 Unit. We roused the troupes and had them on their way around 4:00 am this morning, and we will be cooking our first hot meal tonight for about 250 people. Please keep Blagg’s and all other fire personnel in your thoughts for a smooth and safe 2014 season!
